Pre-departure

Today is the day!
Although I am no where near being fully prepared for the journey, I certainly feel ready.
It's funny. People have been asking if I am excited or nervous, but the truth is I am most calm when I am traveling and moving along. I am not finished my school work yet (flight stopovers are good for that ;), don't have enough suitable clothing (that's what markets are for) and don't even have a travel guidebook for Cameroon (I rely on word of mouth) but I am as calm as a cucumber.
Not knowing what I am heading towards is part of the fun for me. I feel most present and engaged in the world when I am new to a place and expected to hit the ground running. And it seems I am going to the perfect place for this. I am not sure exactly what my internship at the Royal Commonwealth Society of Cameroon entails  but I am assured by the Director that I will have a great time. I look forward to the learning process ahead and feel super blessed to have this opportunity through the University and through the support of my family and friends .
I will miss my peeps in TO but I am sure I will be far more enjoyable to be around once I recharge through this new experience.
